Optimizing a WordPress site consisted of upgrading the PHP version, addressing compatibility problems, and boosting the performance and security of the website.
About This Project
This project consisted of fixing the problem with PHP version compatibility on a WordPress website. The current PHP version was outdated and was causing security warnings and affecting performance. Furthermore, the use of such an outdated version could lead to compatibility problems between the site and the latest plugins and themes. The goal was to optimize the environment for better operation of the website.
Upon the identification of the existing PHP version and analysis of the hosting environment, the website was upgraded to a new stable PHP version. All compatibility tests were run, and cache was cleared, resulting in the website’s improved performance and security.

Conflicting theme issues with the WordPress theme that was being used was found to be the problem and was resolved by testing various WordPress themes and configurations until all necessary fixes had been made so that the website could function properly again and obtain the correct display.
The database connection issue was a result of incorrect configuration settings and was resolved after the credentials had been updated and necessary services restarted. The website was then able to reconnect to the database and resume normal function after the fix.
The problem of plugins not working properly was solved by diagnosing the conflicting plugin using a structured trouble-shooting process. The offending plugin was identified, fixed and tested so that the website was functioning properly again without interfering with any other functionality.
